Barcode Printing
iLabPOS has its own Barcode Printing module integrated. This module prints barcodes
with the Code 39 Standard. You need a barcode (label) printer to be able to use
this module. Barcode printing has been tested on Zebra Label Printers, however
you should be able to use it with other windows printers as well.
Barcode printing is a whole new subject on its own. However this guide will
attempt to rush you through the most important steps in printing labels from iLabPOS.
Setting up the Label Printer
Your first choice should be what size of labels you are using. Once you have purchased
the adhesive labels, make sure that you setup your label printer's printing preferences.
This is done from the printer driver in the control panel (Start >> Settings >> Printers).
You also need to specify the printer in iLabPOS in the hardware setup screen as shown below.
You also need to specify the label size by going to File >> Print Layouts. Be careful to buy labels
which are already supported by iLabPOS to avoid problems.
Install the Barcode Fonts
iLabPOS uses 2 font files kindly provided by Matthew Welch. You need to install these
2 font files before you can print barcode labels. If you do not have these fonts installed
already, download and install them from here:-
fonts.zip
When you have downloaded the zip file, extract the 3 files to your Windows\Fonts directory (or WINNT\fonts).
Printing Barcode Labels
Your first job is to set the title which is displayed on the label. Certain labels
can print 2 titles (A title and a sub title). Smaller labels only print 1 title.
The title is usually the name of your shop, however you can put in anything that you like.
To actually print barcodes, go to the Article Screen, find the article for which
you need to print barcodes and click on the Print Labels button. Here you can make
some final touches to your label, specify how many copies you want to print,
and print them once you're happy. You can preview your labels before you
actually print them.
